Ensure the concrete or masonry substrate is structurally sound and free of loose debris. Drill holes must correspond precisely to the diameter of the expansion anchors or chemical bolts used with the AZZ04 bracket.
Only use stainless steel fasteners (bolts, nuts, and washers) with the AZZ04 bracket to prevent galvanic corrosion. Mixing carbon steel fasteners with stainless steel brackets leads to accelerated oxidation and system failure.
Store brackets in a dry environment, away from direct contact with carbon steel products or chemicals containing chlorides. Keeping the brackets in their original packaging until installation prevents surface contamination and scratches that could compromise the passive layer of the steel.
The spacing and thickness of the AZZ04 brackets must be determined by a structural engineer based on the specific specific gravity of the stone, the wind load requirements of the geographic region, and the total height of the facade.
