After the custom bracket is welded, what weld inspection methods can be used to ensure that the weld quality meets the standards?

Therefore, after the custom bracket is welded, we adopt a series of comprehensive and sophisticated weld inspection methods to ensure that each weld meets or exceeds customer requirements and international standards. The following are several key inspection methods we use to ensure that the weld quality meets the standards:
1. Visual inspection
First, we conduct a rigorous visual inspection, which is the basis of weld quality inspection. Through well-trained technicians, we carefully observe the weld surface to check for obvious defects such as cracks, pores, slag inclusions, undercuts, weld bumps, etc. At the same time, we also evaluate the forming quality of the weld, such as weld width, excess height, penetration, etc., to ensure that it meets the process requirements and design standards. Although visual inspection is simple, it is crucial to discover surface defects.
2. Non-destructive testing
To further ensure the internal quality of the weld, we use advanced non-destructive testing technologies such as X-ray testing, ultrasonic testing and magnetic particle testing.
X-ray testing: By transmitting X-rays through the weld, we can clearly observe the internal structure of the weld and detect hidden defects such as pores, slag inclusions, and incomplete penetration. This method is particularly effective for detecting tiny cracks inside the weld.
Ultrasonic testing: Using the propagation characteristics of ultrasonic waves in the weld, we can detect defects such as pores and inclusions inside the weld. Ultrasonic testing has the advantages of non-destructiveness, fast detection speed, and high sensitivity.
Magnetic particle testing: Apply magnetic powder to the surface of the weld and apply a magnetic field. By observing the accumulation of magnetic powder at the defect, we can find defects such as cracks and slag inclusions on the surface of the weld. This method is very effective for detecting surface or near-surface defects.
3. Mechanical properties testing
In addition to appearance and non-destructive testing, we also perform mechanical property tests such as tensile, bending, and impact on the weld. These tests can evaluate the mechanical properties of the weld, such as strength and toughness, to ensure that the weld can remain stable and reliable when subjected to external forces. By comparing with the mechanical properties of the parent material, we can further verify the matching of the weld with the parent material.
4. Metallographic analysis
Metallographic analysis is an important means to understand the metallurgical quality of welds. We use a metallographic microscope to observe the metallographic structure of welds, analyze the characteristics of grain size, phase distribution, etc., so as to determine whether the welds have metallurgical defects such as overheating and overburning. Metallographic analysis helps us to understand the internal structure of welds more deeply and provide a scientific basis for the optimization of welding processes.
5. Precision dimensional detection
For custom brackets, accurate dimensional control is essential. We use advanced measuring tools (such as calipers, weld gauges, etc.) to accurately measure the dimensions of welds, including parameters such as weld width, height, and angle. These measurement results will serve as one of the important bases for evaluating weld quality.
6. Sealing test
For welds that need to be sealed, we perform sealing tests such as air pressure tests or water pressure tests. These tests can simulate the pressure conditions in the actual working environment and check whether there is leakage in the weld. Through sealing tests, we can ensure that the weld can maintain stable sealing performance in actual applications.
