This page provides detailed specifications for our Undercut Anchor system, a professional-grade solution for the secure and concealed installation of natural stone facade panels. This system is engineered to meet the stringent demands of modern architectural design, offering a durable and aesthetically pleasing finish for a variety of building projects.
The Undercut Anchor system is a specialized mechanical anchor specifically designed for the secure and stress-free attachment of natural stone slabs to a supporting substructure. This system operates on the principle of an undercut drill hole, which creates an interlock connection within the stone panel. This method provides a reliable, non-expanding, and tension-free attachment, crucial for preventing stress cracks in the stone. This solution is widely utilized in architectural facade projects where concealed facade fixing systems are a design prerequisite.
Manufactured to strict industry standards, our undercut anchors undergo rigorous quality control to ensure consistent performance. The use of premium stainless steel, combined with precision engineering, guarantees a product that meets international standards for facade security and longevity. This product is ideal for professional installers seeking reliable marble cladding anchors and granite panel fixings.
| Parameter | Standard Size (mm) | Material |
| Anchor Diameter | 6, 8, 10, 12 | Stainless Steel A2/A4 |
| Drill Hole Diameter | 9, 11, 13, 15 | |
| Drill Hole Depth | 40, 50, 60, 80 | |
| Tensile Strength | Varies by size and application | |
| Shear Strength | Varies by size and application |
This product is engineered for use in a variety of industrial and architectural scenarios, including but not limited to:
Undercut anchors create a mechanical interlock by expanding into a pre-drilled, conical hole within the stone, providing a secure, non-expanding connection that is independent of the tensile strength of the stone. In contrast, many traditional anchors rely on an expanding friction fit, which can exert stress on the stone and increase the risk of cracking. The undercut method is highly effective for concealed fixing and superior load distribution, making it the preferred choice for high-end natural stone facade systems.
Our Undercut Anchor system is designed for compatibility with a wide range of dense, hard natural stone materials, including granite, marble, travertine, and limestone. The selection of the appropriate anchor size and installation technique depends on the specific stone's properties and thickness. We recommend consulting the technical data sheet and performing preliminary pull-out tests to ensure optimal performance for your specific stone type.
The load-bearing capacity is determined by several factors, including the anchor size, the type and thickness of the natural stone slab, and the quality of the installation. For example, a larger anchor will provide a higher capacity. Our technical specifications sheet provides detailed tensile and shear strength values for each anchor size under standard conditions. These anchors are specifically designed to meet the rigorous safety requirements for external cladding fixing systems and building codes.
Advantages of installation with undercut anchors
1. twice the ultimate load capacity (min.)
2. anchor can be positioned anywhere on the surface
3. The panel can be statically optimized
4. lower panel bending moments
5. higher safety factors
6. no visible fixing elements (in the joint)
Due to the production method used for producing natural stone panels (gate saw) thickness tolerances of several millimeters are normal. However, the stand-off fixing can level out the different panel thicknesses.
The use of the drop-in anchor for stand-off fixing offers a solution for leveling these thickness tolerances. The constant remaining wall thickness (RWD) (dimension from the bottom of the drill hole to the panel surface)
and the constant total length of the anchor provides a certain distance. The different panel thicknesses to
various gap widths at the back of the panel between the spacing nut and the back of the panel.
The fixing thicknesses stated are based on the use of a self-locking nut in accordance with DIN 985, a plain washer in accordance with DIN125, and the required thread projection. Both components are not supplied with the anchor but may be ordered supplementary.
If no self-locking nuts are used, another suitable nut-locking device is required. The different fixing thicknesses can be calculated in each individual case from the bolt length of the anchor.
The minimum panel thickness stated is based on the installation method or the anchor type. National regulations are always decisive and must be observed.
